After the surrender of John Paul Solano to the police Friday, another suspect in the hazing death of Horacio Castillo III has surfaced. Aeron Salientes turned himself in at the NBI yesterday.

Aeron Salientes was considered a person of interest in the death of Atio Castillo. Also a member of Aegis Juris Fraternity, Aeron Salientes is included in the lookout bulletin issued by the Department of Justice in connection with the investigation on Castillo’s killing.

But Salientes denied any wrongdoing in the incident. He maintains that he was in Pampanga when the hazing supposedly happened last week. He reiterated that he surfaced after his name was dragged into the investigation and he wants to make it clear he was not involved.

“Here I am, appealing to the nation…I have to clear my name. Wala po talaga akong info kung anuman ang nangyayari at anuman pong mga activities nila,” Aeron Salientes said at the NBI as quoted by CNN Philippines.

Aside from deny involvement in the apparent hazing of Castillo, Salientes said he has been an inactive member of Aegis Juris fraternity for some time. He also said he is against hazing and has never participated in any hazing activity of the fraternity.

After giving a statement to the NBI, Aeron Salientes was not detained as he was only a person of interest and not a primary suspect like John Paul Solano and Ralph Trangia, who has escaped to the US.
