Arnold Schwarzenegger Undergoes Emergency Open-Heart Surgery

Actor-politician Arnold Schwarzenegger is listed as stable at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles after an emergency open-heart surgery. Schwarzenegger, 70, checked into the hospital Thursday for another procedure but developed complications thus forcing doctors to conduct an emergency open-heart surgery.

New of Schwarzenegger’s emergency surgery was broken by TMZ citing sources close to the actor. According to the report, Arnold Schwarzenegger went to Cedars-Sinai for risky catheter valve replacement. He had previously had surgery in 1997 to replace a partially blocked aortic valve.

Sources said Schwarzenegger developed complications during the valve replacement and a emergency open-heart surgery had to be done. TMZ reported that the former Mr. Olympia was in surgery for several hours.
