Bagyong FABIAN: PAGASA Monitors ‘Fabian’, Signal No. 1 Up in N. Luzon

PAGASA is monitoring Tropical Depression ‘Fabian’ in the Batanes region. According to the weather bureau, ‘Bagyong Fabian’ is expected to slightly intensify as it moves westward. No Landfall is expected.

According to the latest update from PAGASA, ‘Fabian’ was estimated based on all available data at 45 km West Southwest of Basco, Batanes at 7:00 AM today. It packs winds of up to 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 65 kph, and moving west northwest at 18 kph.

Signal #1 has been raised over Batanes and Northern Cagayan including Babuyan Group of Islands. These areas will experience 30-60kph winds in the next 36 hours.

‘Bagyong Fabian’ is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) late afternoon or early evening today.
