La Salle is his priority, that’s what Ben Mbala told ABS CBN Sports about DLSU fans’ concern that he is suiting up for Cameroon in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 African Qualifiers from November 24 to 26.

The DLSU Green Archers are on course for a Final Four appearance in UAAP Season 80. In fact, La Salle and arch rival Ateneo are expected to battle it out in the finals, which is scheduled to start on November 25. But with Mbala gone, DLSU may not even make it to the UAAP 80 finals.

“Sadly, I won’t be suiting up for my country because my main priority is DLSU now,” he said.

Mbala added that he will stay with DLSU and play the rest of the UAAP season with the Green Archers in their bid for a back-to-back championship.

As for Cameroon, Big Ben said he is willing to play for his country in the next round of qualifiers if it hurdles the first round.
