The altercation involving the buco vendor, identified as Romnick Relos, occurred on Friday, March 2, at around 2:00 PM. But it wasn’t until Capaycapay posted the video on Friday night that the incident caught everybody’s attention. Some netizens were quick to condemn the violence based on what the video showed. However, the MMDA said their personnel have their own version of what happened and this is what the investigation will establish.

“May version din kasi ‘yung mga personnel from sidewalk clearing operations group na ‘yung buko vendor ay may hawak na yelo, tinatakot silang babatuhin, napapalibutan din sila ng mga vendors, and at the same time, masyado na ring arogante and violent ‘yung nasabing buko vendor… The reason kung bakit uminit ‘yung sitwasyon, nagkaroon ng komosyon du’n sa area,” said Pialago, as quoted by GMA News.
