According to a report from GMA News, it took several hours for the driver’s body to be pulled out from the wreckage. Because the car fell on its roof, the driver was pinned down inside the car. She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Jose Reyes Memorial Hospital.

The identity of the female driver nor the call center she worked at have not been made public.

Meanwhile, a child was injured in the accident when the car hit him on the foot when it fell. According to witnesses, the child was immediately rushed to hospital  but his condition is presently unknown.

One witness said the accident happened so suddenly and caught everyone by surprise. Fortunately, there were no other people walking outside the building when the car fell.

“Paglingon ko bumabagsak na yung kotse, nandiyan na siya sa edge niyan, yung impact tuloy-tuloy, tapos may tinamaang bata sa paa. Sinugod na po sa ospital…,” said the witness.

Police are investigating the case but initial suspicion is that the driver lost control of the car while parking. She may have hit the accelerator instead of the brake pedal.
