Fire Hits Grand Hyatt Hotel in BGC Again, it’s 2nd in 2017!

Another fire has struck the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. It was the second fire to hit the posh hotel currently still under construction in a span of four months.

According to a report by the Inquirer, the fire struck the Grand Hyatt Hotel in the Uptown area of BGC at around 4:10 AM Saturday. Emergency personnel from the Bureau of Fire protection was immediately called to the scene and the fire was traced to the 39th floor of the building.

The fire was immediately contained and the BFP declared fire out 15 minutes later. No casualties were reported.

BFP personnel and construction officials are still assessing the damage and the cause of the fire.

Earlier this year, a bigger fire struck the hotel’s supply room on the second floor.

A project of Federal Land, the Grand Hyatt Hotel in BGC will have six dining outlets, 10 event facilities, and 7 VIP rooms, according to its website. It promises to be the newest and busiest social hub in the Philippines, providing its guests with picturesque sunset views of Manila Bay and Makati’s stellar skyline from its rooms and especially from its remarkable entertainment center with live music and performances at the highest floors of the hotel.

The hotel is scheduled to open its doors to the public in January 2018.
