The iPhone X was released last week in dozens of countries. The Philippines will be in the third batch of countries for its release. It is available for $999 in the US but the Philippine price was not mentioned in the announcement. But if we base it on the latest exchange rate, the price would be P51247.70.

Gray market sellers in the Philippines have already been selling the iPhone X since last week, with prices ranging from P65,000 to as much as P95,000!

Reviews of the iPhone X are very good and, even though there were initial reports of failed drop tests, other drop test results show the iPhone X is quite sturdy and durable even compared to the iPhone 8.

Having said all these, will Filipinos embrace the iPhone X despite its steep price tag? Our answer: Definitely, because it is a status symbol!
