Jollibee will Regularize 7,000 Employees as Ordered by DOLE, Says CEO

Jollibee supports the government’s drive vs ‘contractualization’ and ‘endo’. As such, Jollibee will comply with the Department of Labor (DOLE) order to regularize about 7,000 of its employees. This from the Jollibee CEO himself, Mr. Ernesto Tanmantiong.

Mr. Tanmantiong was interviewed by ABS CBN News in Milan, Italy where Jollibee opened its first store in Europe. He said they have already instructed their service providers to comply with the DOLE order.

“[We] have instructed our service providers to regularize all our employees with the security of tenure and benefits . . . So we support President [Rodrigo] Duterte in ending contractualization,” he said.

Last week, DOLE ordered Jollibee to regularize almost 7,000 of its contractual employees – 6,782 from Jollibee and 704 from Burger King. Jollibee holds the master franchise of Burger King in the Philippines.

The fastfood giant’s labor contractors have also been ordered to return millions of pesos of ‘illegally collected payments”!

Meanwhile, Malacanang said an executive order on ‘endo’ is set to be signed by President Rodrigo Duterte in time for Labor Day.
