Malacanang Shooting Incident Kills 1 Person; No, it’s Not President Duterte

A shooting incident inside inside the Malacanang Palace compound has injured one person. The Presidential Security Group has identified the injured officer as a certain Major Gonzaga but did not reveal the circumstances of the incident.

According to a news report, the shooting occurred inside the office of Major Gonzaga. Whether the shooting was accidental or intentional is still unknown. A spokesman of the PSG said they will issue an official statement once their investigation is done.

The shooting occurred near the official presidential residence of Bahay Pagbabago but it has not been revealed if President Rodrigo Duterte was there at the time.

Whether accidental or not, the incident should be investigated thoroughly because it happened in what is supposedly one of the most secure places in the country.

UPDATE: The PSG said Major Gonzaga is dead. According to Interaksyon, his wife found him in his quarters near Bahay Pagbabago with a gunshot wound on his chest.
