Manila Pavilion Hotel Fire: 4 Confirmed Dead, Dozens Trapped in Upper Floors

The Manila Pavilion Hotel is on fire! Firefighters continue to battle the fire at the hotel which broke out just before 10:00 AM Sunday. As of the writing, the Manila Pavilion fire has already claimed the lives of four people, according to authorities.

The cause of the Manila Pavilion fire is still unknown but authorities believe the blaze started on the second floor of the hotel where there is some renovation going on. They suspect a welding torch may have ignited the fire.

The blaze has already gutted the casino area in the lower floors and firefighters fear the fire will continue to the upper floors.

Four people have died but their identities have not been released. At least six people have been injured. All were rushed to the Manila Doctors’ Hospital just a few meters away along United Nations Avenue.

As firefighters continued to battle the blaze from inside, there are fears that many guests are trapped in the upper floors.
