Another Missing Caloocan Teen Dead: Michael Remecio Found in Bulacan Dump Site

Missing 16-year old Michael Remecio has been found dead. The decomposing body of Remecio was found in a garbage dump site by a scavenger in Barangay Gaya-Gaya sa San Jose del Monte, Bulacan yesterday, September 13. Michael had been missing since August 26.

The body of Michael Remecio was positively identified by his mother, Genevie Remecio, based on his clothes and the scars on his back. Though his family has accepted his passing, what they cannot accept is the way he may have died.

Michael’s body was found inside a sack with his hands tied by a nylon cord behind his back. Based on this, Remecio may have been the victim of summary killing. This puzzles his family because, according to them, Michael was not into drugs although they admit that he drank and smoked.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of Michael Remecio’s death.

Michael went missing on August 26 when he failed to come home after plying his normal route as a tricycle driver. His family had been looking for him since.

Michael Remecio’s death adds another dark cloud to Caloocan City, whose police force is under fire for the death of Kian delos Santos earlier this year. Charges of murder have been filed against a number of policemen for Kian’s death.

Though the police said Kian delos Santos was a drug courier who fired at police when he was confronted during a raid, several witnesses have come forward saying they saw how several policemen dragged Kian to a corner and heard him beg for his life before shots rang out.

Autopsy results also showed Kian was liked shot while he was lying on the ground.
