Body of Missing Pinoy Mikelangelo Claveria Found in Septic Tank in Korea

South Korean authorities believe they have found the body Mikelangelo Claveria, a Filipino missing since 2016. A body fitting the description of the OFW has been found in a septic tank in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.

Mikelangelo Claveria had been missing for two years. Despite efforts to find him and the investigation undertaken, the OFW could not be located. But then, a body was discovered inside a septic tank near where Claveria worked before went missing and police believe they have finally found him.

According to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency, authorities are now coordinating with Claveria’s family in Cabatuan, Iloilo for a more positive identification of the body. It is believed that DNA sampling would conclusively establish it is Mikelangelo.

Meanwhile, police are now investigating the cause of his death, according to Yonhap.

The Philippine Embassy in Korea, as well as the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), are likewise conducting their own investigation.
