Olympian & DLSU Table Tennis Star Yanyan Lariba Needs Blood Donors

Philippine table tennis Olympian Ian ‘Yanyan’ Lariba is in need of blood donors. The La Salle community is rallying behind Yanyan Lariba in her battle against an undisclosed ailment at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City.

De La Salle University is spearheading the call for help for YanYan. Lariba is in need of Type O blood donors but DLSU has nor her family has not released details about her condition, opting to keep it private at this time. Blood donations may be given directly at the St. Luke’s Medical Center blood bank which is open 24 hours. Donors must specify that such donation is for Yanyan Lariba.

Lariba led De La Salle University in capturing UAAP table tennis crowns. She also collected several individual awards in the process, among which are MVP and Athlete of the Year honors.

Yanyan also represented the Philippines in international table tennis competitions. in 2014, she led the Philippine team in capturing the Division 4 title at the 2014 World Table Tennis Team Championships in Tokyo, Japan. She also competed for the country in the Southeast Asian games.

In 2016, Ian Lariba became the first Filipina table tennis player to qualify and compete in the Summer Olympic Games.
