Pinoy Commits Suicide by Drowning Himself in Chao Phraya River in Bangkok

A young OFW drowned himself in the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. The Pinoy committed suicide by jumping into the river Saturday night. Rescue efforts were launched but proved to be unsuccessful.

A Filipino committed suicide in Bangkok  by jumping into the Chao Phraya River. The overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was identified as Silvester Kristoffer Depusoy, 25, who worked as a waiter on the ship MV Glory Marugame.

Crew members of the boat told police that Depusoy took his clothes off and suddenly jumped into the Chao Phraya River, They immediately threw him a flotation device but he reused to take it. Instead, the Filipino was seen raising his arms upwards before sinking into the water. He has not been seen since.

Emergency personnel were immediately notified and rescuers were dispatched to the scene. However, the body of the victim could not be found as the current at the Chao Phraya.

It is unknown why Silvester Kristoffer Depusoy would take his own life.
