It was the third stroke for Pepe Smith in just over a year, according to ABS CBN News. The rock legend is turning 70 years old on December 25.

His condition is now described as stable after being transferred to the Acute Stroke Unit of the hospital at around 3:00 AM. His vital signs have improved but Pepe Smith is still being closely monitored by his doctors due to his advanced age and the fact that this was his third stroke since 2016.

Smith, known as the ‘Mick Jagger of the Philippines’ in the 60s, is set to retire later this month due to health reasons. A planned grand retirement concert called the Pepe Smith Rockfest is scheduled on November 18 at the Amoranto Stadium in Quezon City. But with his current condition, the concert will probably not push through.
