On his Instagram, Robin Padilla expressed his shock and dismay over a hold departure order against him. Robin found out about the hold departure order when he was prevented from leaving for China recently.

According to Robin Padilla, he was invited by the princess of the Sultanate of Sulu to an event in China. However, he was barred from leaving the country because he is on a hold departure list by the Bureau of Immigration.

This was a shock to the actor because he had been previously allowed to leave the country on several occasions. The actor said the he had no problems from leaving the country when he was given a conditional pardon several years ago. But, surprisingly, after Duterte gave him absolute pardon last year, he is now on the hold departure list.

Robin Padilla was referring to the conditional pardon given to him be former president Fidel V Ramos in 1998 for his illegal possession of firearms conviction. Then last year, after having difficulty getting a US visa to join his wife Mariel, who gave birth in the USA, Duterte granted Padilla absolute pardon thus restoring his full civil and political rights.

Padilla even joked that the reason for his hold departure order may be due to his dragon tattoo being mistaken as a triad tattoo, referring to Senator Antonio Trillanes’ accusation on Duterte’s son, Paolo.

But the Bureau of Immigration said there is no hold order on Robin Padilla. It likewise said they have no records of Padilla even attempting to leave the country in the past seven days.

So, what gives? Who’s telling the truth? Who made a mistake?
