SLEX’s AutoSweep RFID Now Accepted at NLEX, SCTEX and CAVITEX Toll Roads

SLEX motorists equipped with the RFID can now use it for NLEX, SCTEX and CAVITEX toll roads. This after the first phase of the tollways payment interoperability scheme went into effect recently. Thus AutoSweep RFID tags are now accepted in the toll roads operated by Metro Pacific Tollways Corp.

Previously, only EasyTrip RFID are accepted at NLEX, SCTEX and CAVITEX, and only AuroSweep RFID tags are accepted at SLEX, Skyway, NAIAex, and MCX toll roads. However, the Department of Transportation (DoTr) pushed for the interoperability of both systems so that motorists will no longer have to subscribe to both to use all toll roads.

Last September, upon the initiative of the DoTr, both Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (which operates NLEX, SCTEX and CAVITEX) and San Miguel Corp. (which operates SLEX, Skyway, NAIAex, MCX, STAR Tollway and TPLEx) agreed to set a six-month deadline for the interoperability.

Now, AutoSweep RFID is accepted at NLEX, SCTEX and CAVITEX. By April 2018, EasyTrip RFID will be accepted at SLEX, Skyway, NAIAex, MCX, STAR Tollway and TPLEx.
