In the video, 88-year old grandmother Geralda Altamosa and her disabled daughter can be seen getting off the taxi of Inojado after the latter refused them a ride. This despite the old lady’s promise that she would pay extra if Inojado would take them to their destination, Barangay Basak in Cebu. Despite this, however, Inojado still refused and ‘kicked’ them out of his taxi in the pouring rain.

Summoned by LTFRB Region 7, the taxi driver and his operator, Dr. J Taxi, faced Lola Geralda Altamosa.

Norman Inojado admitted his mistake though he gave a lame excuse why he refused Lola Geralda a ride.

“Natatakot akong malunod Sir dahil responsibility namin kung masisira ang sasakyan. Bago pa kasi ito,” he said. But th LTFRB was unconvinced and meted him a fine of P10,000.

“May basic obligation tayo na hindi pwedeng tumanggi dahil public convenience tayo so hindi tayo pwedeng mamili ng pasahero kasi taxi tayo. We have a basic obligation na dapat courteous tayo sa mga pasahero. That applies to all public utility vehicles,” said LTFRB officer Edwin Antipuesto.
