In an interview with GMA News, Bunny also confirmed that Jollibee has agreed to let her consult a legal counsel and the Commission on Human Rights.

“Yes. They personally reached out to me this afternoon. Sabi ko sa kanila it would be best na magconsult muna ako sa Legal Counsel at sa CHR para may right people to facilitate us sa meeting. They are willing naman to cooperate. I just have to let them know para ma-discuss ito,” Bunny Cadag told GMA News.

“Mapagpalaya tayo. Napatawad na natin sila,” she added.

The gender discrimination complaint of Cadag became viral on social media and netizens expressed outrage that a large and supposedly forward-thinking corporation such as Jollibee could be guilty of gender discrimination.

Bunny Cadag was hired, along with several others, for a transcriber job at Jollibee corporate headquarters in Ortigas Center. She started on June 30. But before her second day, she received a message that she should not continue as Jollibee was not prepared to have a trans woman in its offices.

Bunny Cadag said she was told of the following reasons:

Jollibee has since apologized. It said the incident was an isolated case as it has been the company’s policy not to tolerate any disrespect, discrimination, harassment, violation or intimidation of any person.
