WATCH Bianca Manalo Reveals What Really Happened in Boating Accident

Bianca Manalo is back in Manila after that boating accident in Antique on Maundy Thursday and, in her first interview since, she told ABS CBN News what really happened. Bianca also related how she almost lost hope of surviving but her faith kept her strong.

Bianca Manalo was still emotional as she recalled their ordeal. Their group was one their way to Mararison Island from Pandan last Thursday when big waves caused their speedboat to capsize. As they clung to the boat, the former Miss Universe Philippines said she tried to calm everybody down. Fortunately, she underwent training as a flight attendant and this came in handy.

“Meron akong basic na training so ang una ko pong ginawa was hinubad ko ‘yung damit ko para hindi mabigat and kapit. Ganun lang po,” she told Mario Dumaual of ABS CBN News.

“I was trying to calm everyone down. Naging pacifier ako ng group. May takot sa puso but lagi akong nagdadasal. Sabi ko Lord save us, Lord save us. Please Lord, calm the waters. ‘Yun ang lumalabas sa bibig ko. Never akong sumigaw.

But as she tried to help everyone, deep inside her she was losing hope.

Their host in Pandan, Antique – her boyfriend, Mayor Jonathan Tan, swam to shore together with a bodyguard to seek help.

“Two and a half hours silang nag-swimming. Akala namin he will never make it. Bianca recounted.

When help finally arrived, they could not stop crying. Bianca Manalo said that amid the tears of joy and relief, all she did was thank God.

“When I saw the rescue, I was crying nonstop. Lord, thank you.

A cousin/bodyguard of Mayor Tan  died in the accident. Aside from Manalo, actress Ehra Madrigal and her husband, and several others, survived.
