WATCH Vice Ganda & It’s Showtime Cast’s Emotional Tribute to #Franco

The live Hashtag Franco tribute finally aired on It’s Showtime Wednesday. Tears fell as the whole It’s Showtime cast – from hosts Vice Ganda, Vhong Navarro, Karylle, etc. to the Hashtags and GirlTrends joined in and paid their respects to their fallen friend and comrade.

Jed Madela opened It’s Showtime with the songs ‘Gone Too Soon’ and ‘See You Again’ as the entire cast, dressed in white, surrounded the stage. But in the middle was an empty stool symbolizing the loss of Hashtag Franco. As Jed performed, Vice Ganda and the other members of the cast can be seen crying, unable to hold back their tears.

After the performance, they talked about Franco and the void that he has left in the show and in their hearts with his untimely passing.

Nalagasan ako ng isang anak,” said Vice Ganda.

At times nabubuwisit ako sa boses niya, pero nagsisimula na akong ma-miss ang boses niya,” the comedian, who is often regarded as the ‘nanay’ of the young members of the cast, said.

For the Hashtags, each said they will miss not only a friend and colleague but a brother. They will miss Franco’s morning greetings and hugs, this brotherly advice, his sense of humor, his kakulitan, and even his reprimands. Because just like an older brother, Hashtag Franco would talk to then when he thought they did something wrong and tell them what to do.

Franco lies in state at Arlington Memorial Chapels in Quezon City after drowning in a boating accident last Saturday. He will be cremated on Friday.
