Why Mourners Sang & Danced to ‘Dancing Queen’ at Bulacan Student’s Funeral

A rather unusual funeral occurred in Malolos, Bulacan this week. Instead of mourners crying, people danced and sang at Emmanuel Omaña’s funeral. In fact, they sang and danced Abba’s hit ‘Dancing Queen’. It was one of Omaña’s last wishes.

Emmanuel Omaña passed away after a bout with leukemia on July 2. But before he passed on, he planned his funeral to the last detail and made sure family and friends would follow his plan.

All his life, Emanuel Omaña was known to bring joy to everyone. It was, therefore, no surprise that that’s what he also wanted for his funeral.

A Secondary Education student at the Bulacan State University, Omaña planned every detail – from the casket to the flowers to the songs. He also wished to be featured on TV. And that came true as well when GMA News featured his unusual funeral on ‘Saksi’.
