100,000 New Passport Appointment Slots at DFA Opened Until May 2018

If you’re applying for a new passport, or renewing your old passport, now is the time to get an appointment at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). 100,000 new appointment slots were opened by the DFA Tuesday, January 23, after complaints from the public that there are not enough slots for thousands of applicants.

As of this writing, the DFA passport appointment cannot be reached. It may be down due to the influx of applications. Or it may have been brought down by ‘bots’ who grab the slots for certain entities only to be sold at a steep price.

DFA secretary Alan Peter Cayetano disclosed that they suspect ‘bots’ are being used to snatch away passport application slots. Some applicants have earlier complained being offered  slots for sale by travel agencies and fixers.
