Australian Player Chris Goulding Tweet ‘Philippino Monkeys’ Goes Viral, but Fake?

In the wake of the ugly brawl between Australia and the Philippines, a controversial tweet from an Australian player Chris Goulding has surfaced wherein he called the Gilas Pilipinas players “Philippino monkeys”!

Chris Goulding wrote in his now deleted tweet, “Philippino Monkeys!!! Trash team. Trash crowd. Trash Federation. Trash country. #Disgraceful”

It didn’t help, as well, that Goulding was one of the main figures in the brawl between Australian and Philippine players. It was his physical contact with Gilas player RR Pogoy that ignited the brawl after which Daniel Kickert elbowed Pogoy in the neck.

CHris Goulding’s tweet immediately went viral and Filipinos slammed the Australian player for being racist. However, it is allegedly fake!

“I can categorically state that tweet is not real and is 100 percent photoshopped,” said Basketball Australia media manager Grant Richardson in a message to Spin.ph.

Really? It’s easy to claim that the tweet is fake, or the account has been hacked. We’ve all heard that excuse before.

Just saying.
