‘Bagyong Josie’ Update: Tropical Depression #JosiePH Dumps Rain Over NCR, Luzon

Tropical Depression Josie maintained it strength as it crossed the Philippine Strait overnight. But it not the force of its winds that makes #JosiePH devastating, it is the heavy rainfall it brings as the cyclone enhances the southwest monsoon.

According to the latest update from PAGASA, Tropical Depression Josie (aka Bagyong Josie) was 85 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes at 7:00 AM Sunday. The cyclone maintained its maximum sustained winds at 60 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 75 kph, and was moving northeast at 35 kph.

SIGNAL #1 is up over Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands.

The southwest monsoon will bring moderate to heavy rains over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, rest of Cagayan Valley, Mindoro provinces, Rizal, Cavite and Batangas.
