Bagyong Inday Update: #IndayPH Exits PAR But New LPA Threatens Ilocos Region

#IndayPH has slightly intensified and is now a tropical storm. The cyclone will enhance the southwest monsoon (habagat) and bring moderate to heavy rainfall in parts of Luzon.

Bagyong Inday is not expected to make landfall. Instead, the storm is forecast to move northeast in the general direction of the East China Sea towards eastern China.

UPDATE July 21: #IndayPH inten sified further on Friday and was upgraded to Severe Tropical Storm. But late Friday evening, Inday began leaving the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

According to the 11:00 PM bulletin of PAGASA, Severe Tropical Storm “INDAY” was estimated 925 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes. It has sustained winds of 90 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph.

But a new LPA is being monitored by the weather bureau. The LPA is coming from the west towards the Ilocos Region. If it enters PAR and intensifies into a cyclone, it will be named Bagyong Josie, of #JosiePH.
