‘Bagyong Karding’ Update: #KardingPH to Exit PAR Tonight, New Cyclone Enhances Habagat

A new low pressure area (LPA) already inside PAR may become a storm anytime now. To be named Bagyong Karding, or #KardingPH, once it enters, the new cyclone is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon.  (Scroll down for latest update)

UPDATE August 10: According to the latest update from PAGASA on Friday, tropical Depression #KardingPH has maintained its strength but is expected to leave PAR by Friday night or Saturday morning.

The tropical drepression has maximum sustained winds of 70 kph near the center and gusts of up to 90 kph. It is forecast to move west-northwest at 20 kilometers per hour. At its last location, #KardingPH was spotted 1,060 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.

Meanwhile, the other LPA west of the Philippines being monitored by PAGASA for several days is now also a tropical depression being. It is located west of extreme Northern Luzon outside of PAR.

Nevertheless, PAGASA says both #KardingPH and the tropical depression will enhance the southwest monsoon (habagat) to bring bring scattered to widespread moderate to heavy rains over Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region and the western section of Central Luzon beginning today.
