Blind Filipina Singer Alienette Coldfire Wins 3rd in ‘France Got Talent’

Blind singer Katchcry Jewel Golbin, aka Alienette Coldfire, has finished in third place in ‘France Got Talent’.

It was an amazing journey for Alienette Coldfire in ‘France Got Talent’.  After captivating millions. not only in France and in the Philippines, the blind Filipina singer has won third place in “France a un Incroyable Talent” .

Singing Jacques Brel’s “Quand on n’a que l’amour” for the grand finals, Alienette Coldfire once again captivated her audience, and brought many to tears. Combining her beautiful voice with her emotional rendition, the blind girl with big dreams from Iloilo province in the southern Philippines made her family, friends, supporters and countrymen very proud.

And, to think, it has only been three years since she started learning the French language. Like many of her dreams, Alienette worked hard to achieve it despite her handicap.

After hearing “La Vie En Rose” by Edith Piaf, Alienette, whose real name is Katchcry Jewel Golbin, became fascinated with the French language and vowed to speak it fluently one day. She then enrolled French as an elective subject in college, and practiced speaking with friends she met through Facebook.

“I listen to French conversations without understanding them. I listen closely to the rhythm of the language. Tapos nung nag-start na ko to learn the language seriously, everything came naturally na lang ,” she related.

That love for the French language and her natural ability to sing led her to the ‘France Got Talent’ stage, to the heart of millions, and a third place finish.
