Hundreds of passengers remain stranded at NAIA. For the fourth straight day, flights have been cancelled despite the reopening of the main runway on Saturday. The reason for the cancellations remain unknown.

Why are flights still cancelled? Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal said the airlines should answer this.

NAIA has been operating normally since the reopening of the runway on Saturday, Monreal said. So he said he does not know wht flights are being cancelled.

“Ang cancellation, hindi manggagaling sa aming Authority. ‘Yan po ay manggagaling sa airlines… The better point is sabihin nila bakit sila nagkansela,” Monreal told GMA News.

But the airport chief admits it will take several days for flight schedules to normalize. Since reopening on Saturday, only scheduled flights are accommodated during the day. Rescheduled flights affected by the closure were only allowed to use the runway from midnight to early morning.
