COMELEC: Registration of Voters for 2019 Elections Resume on July 2

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) announced on Tuesday that registration of voters will resume on July 2. This is in preparation for the 2019 mid-term elections slated in May 2019.

In a press release dated June 19, Director James Jimenez announced that, aside from the registration of new voters, the COMELEC will also process transfers of voters, reactivation of voting privileges and correction of voters’ records.

Starting July 2, registration of voters will be accepted from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at all Offices of the Election Officer where the voter resides.

Satellite registration sites will also be opened in malls, barangays and the like but such schedules will be announced at a later time.

As with previous voter registrations, the requirement is a government issued ID which will prove his identity as well as his residence in the particular city or municipality where he is applying to vote.
