LOOK Dasmarinas PNP Solicits for Christmas Party

Isn’t solicitation during the Christmas season prohibited for all government employees? Then why is the PNP in Dasmarinas soliciting for its Christmas party? A netizen posted a copy of a police solicitation letter online and has asked Philippine National Police chief ‘Bato’ dela Rosa to investigate the matter.

There have been a number of reports about government authorities reminding their employees against solicitation this Christmas season. Most prominent of these is the warning given to NAIA personnel where solicitation and extortion in years past had been reported. It’s okay to greet tourists and travelers ‘Merry Christmas’ because Filipinos are naturally hospitable. But to expect anything in return is improper. Even worse is to ask for something in return.

It is, therefore, no surprise that a netizen reacted to the solicitation letter of the Dasmarinas City Police Station asking for sponsors to make their Christmas party ‘more meaningful’.
