DNA Test Confirms Jessie Carlos was Gunman’s Burnt Body in Resorts World

The burnt body found in Room 501 of Maxim’s Hotel at Resorts World was Jessie Carlos. DNA tests conducted by the Philippine National Police crime laboratory confirmed it was Jessie Carlos based on DNA sample from the body and Carlos’ parents.

“Oo. Positive na si Jessie Carlos. Sample from both parents,” said PNP-Crime Laboratory director Chief Superintendent Aurelio Trampe when interviewed by GMA News.

The results thus proves that Carlos died after launching an attack on the Resorts World casino last Friday, which killed 38 people. Jessie Carlos was earlier positively identified by his estranged wife and parents based on CCTV footage taken during the attack. Carlos, they said, was a casino addict who owes more than P4 million from banks and other lending institutions due to his vice.

Conspiracy theorists earlier said the burnt body may not have been the gunman, Carlos. It may belong to a ‘fall guy’ who was burned beyond recognition so that the gunman could escape.
