Urduja and Agaton destroyed two bridges down south, the Daligdigan Bridge in Lanao del Norte and the Caray-Caray bridge in Biliran Province rendering them impassable thus adversely affecting travel and trade in their areas. But inspired by the Duterte administration’s #BuildBuildBuild policy, the DPWH has now restored travel and commerce by repairing the two bridges.

In previous years and administrations, this would have taken months to achieve, even years! But, now, the DPWH showed us that it is capable of addressing such concerns quickly. Kaya naman pala!

“The Daligdigan Bridge, a 49 meter bridge located at Salvador, Lanao del Norte, which was damaged by Typhoon Agaton last December, is now open to the public. #BuildBuildBuild,” wrote Villar on Facebook, together with before and after shots of the bridge.

“Following the timeline set by President Duterte, the Caray-Caray bridge in Biliran which was affected by Typhoon Urduja is now open to the public,” Villar said of the Caray-Caray bridge repair.ep

“Bakit ngayon ang bilis, dati hihintayin muna mageleksyon bago gawin!” wrote one netizen in the comments section.

Others, though, were still not impressed, pointing out that the repaired bridges are flimsy and temporary. But netizens countered that, at least, the two bridges are now passable. Temporary or not, what’s important is that the DPWH addressed the need of Filipinos quickly.

Agreed!
