Teddy Boy Locsin will be the next secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). Duterte announced Locsin as his choice for the DFA post on Thursday night upon his arrival from Indonesia.

At a press briefing at NAIA, President Rodrigo Duterte was asked who the next DFA secretary would be. Though Alan Peter Cayetano has not yet resigned, he is expected to do so to run for congressman of Taguig City in the 2019 midterm elections.

Duterte told the media that he already had a choice for the DFA post. However, he hesitated as he still did not have Locsin’s permission to reveal the news. But after being assured by SAP Bong Go that it was alright, the president finally named his new DFA secretary.
