No less than Department of Tourism (DOT) chief Berna Romulo Puyat made the announcement that Erwan Heussaff will return his talent fee. According to Puyat, she has known Heussaff for many years and has worked with him even during her stint at the Department of Agriculture.

Erwan is a good guy, said Puyat during an interview aired on TV Patrol. It is just a pity that his named was dragged into the controversy. Earlier, Anne Curtis defended her husband, saying all Erwan really wants is to promote Filipino food.

‘Buhay Carinderia’ was a project of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) to promote Filipino cuisine. But Puyat ordered it stopped after discovering that the project, with a budget of P320 million, did not go through bidding.

Eventually, TPB chief Cesar Montano was asked by President Duterte to resign because of the controversy.
