FULL LIST Emmy Awards Winners 2018: Game of Thrones Wins Best Drama Emmy!

Emmy Awards winners

Games of Thrones was back to its Emmys winning ways.

Game of Thrones and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel lead the list of Emmy winners for 2018. The annual Emmy Awards were held a few hours ago in Los Angeles is what has been described as the most political Emmys ever.

Awards hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che led the political jokes on stage, poking fun at Donald Trump (who else) as well as Roseanne Barr and even the #MeToo movement. Some of this year’s Emmy winners followed suit with their own political statements in their acceptance speeches.

But, back to the winners this year, Game of Thrones picked up two major awards in its return this year – Outstanding Drama Series and the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for Peter Dinklage. Meanwhile, it was a bigger night for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

‘Mrs. Maisel’ cleaned up at the Emmys this year winning five major awards – Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series (Amy Sherman-Palladino), Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Alex Borstein) and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Rachel Brosnahan) . It’s just too bad that Tony Shaloub was robbed of the lead actor award!

One noteworthy win of the night was the posthumous award given to Anthony Bourdain for Parts Unknown – Outstanding Short Form Nonfiction Or Reality Series.

Of special interest to our Filipino readers is the win of Fil-Am Darren Criss as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for The assassination of Gianni Versace.

Oh, and a marriage proposal happened on stage!
