Grab Driver Romualdo Alabarca Gives FREE Rides to Stranded Commuters

A free Grab ride? In this day and age when almost nothing is free anymore, it is surprising to find a Grab driver who gives free rides. That’s right, FREE! And driver Romualdo Alabarca does this almost everyday. Find out why.

Jeman Bunyi Villanueva is one of the lucky commuters who got a free ride from Romualdo Alabaraca. In this Facebook page, Villanueva said he was a passenger of Alabarca. The Grab driver was already on his way home at the time, and when he found out that Villanueva is also from Molino in Cavite, Alabaraca offered the ride for free.

“Na mention ko na taga Molino ako and he immediately offered na isabay na ako kasi pauwi na din daw siya. I asked how much and he said, wala na ako babayaran kasi along the way naman daw ako pauwi. Normally I’d feel hesitant kasi that’s too good to be true,” wrote Jeman Villanueva of the incident.

Not only that, Alabarca asked if it would be okay to pick up stranded commuters in Baclaran who were also on their way to Cavite. When he said yes, they picked up three more passengers. All for free!

In an interview with the Philippines Star, Mang Romualdo Alabaraca said it would not cost him a cent giving the free rides as he was also on his way home. Plus, it’s a way of giving back.

And it turns out that Mang Romualdo is really someone other TNV drivers should emulate. Another Facebook post by a passenger, Angelica Verba, related how Alabarca returned the phone she left charging in Mang Romualdo’s car.

To Grab Philippines, I hope you know that you have a gem of a driver and an even better human being among your ranks. He deserves some kind of recognition, don’t you agree?
