Richard Marx and his wife, Daisy Fuentes were on a Korean Air flight from Vietnam to South Korea when the incident occurred. About an hour and a half into the flight, a Korean passenger became unruly and could not be pacified by the crew. He later turned violent and attacked light attendants.

Some passengers, including Richard Marx, had to step in so the the ‘psycho’ passenger could be subdued.

According to Twitter posts by Marc and Daisy Fuentes, the unidentified passenger started pushing the female staff and pulling them by the hair. At one point, the passenger also spit on the cabin crew.

When the unruly passenger started attacking the all-female flight attendants, Richard Marx was the first to subdue him, according to Daisy Fuentes. And this went on for four hours!

Although she felt sorry for what the flight attendants had to endure, Fuentes said they were obviously ill-prepared for such situations. They had a taser but did not know how to use it. They had a rope but lacked training on how to properly use it to restrain such passengers.

Richard Marx echoed his wife’s sentiments in his own Twitter posts. He said the crew was ‘completely ill-prepared and untrained’ for such situations.

‘The all female crew was clueless and not trained as to how to restrain this psycho and he was only initially subdued when I and a couple other male passengers intervened,’ Marx wrote.

He also said there should be sanctions against Korean Air for failing to properly address such emergencies during the flight.

The passenger was later turned over to waiting police at Incheon airport when the plane landed. A spokesman for Korean Air said the passenger may have had too much to drink.
