According to case records, Bill Cosby assaulted Andrea Constand in his Pennsylvania mansion in January 2004. Constand, who was then working with the Temple University women’s basketball team, went over to the comedian’s mansion in Elkins Park after a night out with friends. According to her, Bill Cosby drugged and raped her.

Constand said Cosby gave her pills to relax after which she was unable to move. Then, the comedian touched her and put her hand in his manhood. She said she woke up at 4:00 AM naked and with her clothes all over the room.

Bill Cosby’s defense said the sex was consensual, and painted Andrea Constand as a liar who fabricated her story. But prosecutors said the comedian was a sexual predator who drugged his victims before sexually assaulting them.

In the end, the jury of five women and seven men believed the prosecution and found Bill Cosby guilty of all three counts of sexual assault – penetration with lack of consent; penetration while unconscious; and penetration after administrating an intoxicant. Each count carries carries a sentence of 10 years.
