Latest ‘Bagyong Queenie’ Forecast Update: QueeniePH Inside PAR, No Landfall Seen

Super Typhoon PaengPH is set to exit PAR on Saturday but a new cyclone is approaching. Already a tropical depression, it will be named ‘Queenie’, aka ‘Bagyong Queenie’ or QueeniePH, when it enters the Philippine Area of responsibility on Tuesday.

SCROLL DOWN FOR LATEST UPDATES Even before PaengPH could leave the Philippines, a new storm has already formed in the Pacific. Currently packing winds of 45 kph and gusts of up to 60 kph according to PAGASA, the potential QueeniePH is still about 2,625 kilometers east of Mindanao.

According to the forecast of the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) of the US, Bagyong Queenie will more or less follow the path taken by Typhoon Paeng. Its forecast track is posted below.

Meanwhile, speaking of PaengPH, it as last spotted 615 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes and on its way out of PAR. Paeng, of Super Typhoon Trami, is expected to hit Japan on Sunday.

UPDATE October 1: Typhoon ‘Kong-Rey’ is arriving earlier than expected. Forecast to enter PAR by Tuesday, PAGASA said the cyclone, which will be named #QueeniePH, or Typhoon Queenie, will enter PAR today!

UPDATE: Bagyong Queenie entered PAR at 5PM Monday but PAGASA said it is not expected to make landfall in a any part of the country (just as JTWC predicted). #QueeniePH is expected to exit PAR on Friday.

At 10:00 PM, the typhoon was located 1,280 km East of Casiguran, Aurora, with maximum sustained winds of 180 kph and gusts of up to 220 kph.
