WATCH Mayon Volcano Ash Explosion Caught on Video as Alert Level 4 Raised

A huge column of ash shot out of Mayon Volcano on Monday. The explosion spewed tons of ash and other debris high up into the air as the the restiveness of Mayon continued for a second week.

As a result of the ash explosion, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) raised Alert Level 4 on Mayon Volcano. This means the most active volcano in the country has now reached the intense restiveness level. It also means that a hazardous explosion may occur within hours or days.
