Conor McGregor Rejects Pacquiao, Wants MMA Fight Next Not Boxing

It looks like there will be no Pacquiao McGregor fight after all. At least not anytime soon. Mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor has reportedly rejected Manny Pacquiao’s offer for a fight.

The Filipino boxer announced last week that he has opened talks with McGregor. After the highly-successful Mayweather-McGregor fight earlier this year, Pacquiao wants some action too.

But McGregor wants his next fight in then octagon and not the boxing ring. Interviewed on video by TMZ, the MMA superstar said, “I think a true fight is what I want to do next.”

“MMA next,” he added.

McGregor lost to Floyd Mayweather in their highly-publicized Las Vegas fight last August. After 10 rounds, Mayweather earned a TKO.

No exact figures were officially announced but it was believed to be a huge payday for both fighters.

Manny Pacquiao obviously wants to cash in as he tries to plump up his coffers for his presidential bid in the Philippines in 2022.
