Interviewed by GMA News, Schuck said the Miss Earth organization took care of the contestants’ safety and well-being throughout the pageant. There was a team leader for each group pf contestants as well as female cops to assist them wherever they went.

“She never told us,” said Schuck, referring to Miss Canada, Jaime VandenBerg, who claimed in her Instagram post that she experienced over two weeks of sexual harassment from a pageant sponsor who called her on the phone repeatedly and even asked for sexual favors in exchange for placing well in the competition.

“She came here on the 6th (of October), we found out about it on the 14th (of October)… She never told anyone,” Lorraine Schuck continued.

“So galit na galit ako sa team managers kasi kung ako tinawagan nila at may incident na ganoon, ipu-pull-out ko lahat. Because I won’t allow that to happen,” added Schuck.

Miss Canada asked for her passport and Miss Earth organizers gave it to her. Then, on October 22, Jaime VandenBerg left.

Miss Earth 2018 ended on November 3 with the crowning of its winner, Miss Vietnam.
