OFW Groom Dies in Car Crash Two Days Before Wedding; Another OFW Dead

An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) set to get married this week died in a car accident. The groom died while on his way to their province two days before his wedding.

The groom has been identified as Christian Philip Agravante, an OFW from Hawaii. He and some friends were on their way to Laoag City on Wednesday, June 27, when the van they were riding crashed into the welcome arch of Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, according to GMA News.

The impact was so strong that the van bounced off after the initial impact and teetered on the edge of the highway, almost falling to the rice field below. According to local police, this shows that the vehicle was traveling at high speed.

Aside from Christian Philip Agravante, another OFW from Hawaii also died in the accident. he has been identified as Tristan Lorenzo. Six others including the driver were injured.

According to the Inquirer, the six injured have been identified as Aristotle Riveral, 21; Jhumer Cristobal, 24; Whilly Porillo, 18; Aervelle Cylde Pascua, 23; Aerolle Khave Pascua, 22; and Ryan Marinez, 31, all residents of Barangay 1 at Pagudpud town in Ilocos Norte province.

Agravante was supposed to get married today, June 28.
