OFW Henry John Acorda Laid to Rest as Family Continues to Cry for Justice

The Filipino beaten to death in Slovakia has been laid to rest. Overseas Filipino worker Henry John Acorda was buried on Saturday with mourners wearing white shirts printed with ‘Justice for Henry’.

Henry John Acorda funeral was held at the Heritage Park in Taguig City four days after his remains were flown back home on a special plane provided by the Slovakian government.

The OFW died after being beaten by two men in the streets of Bratislava, Slovakia on May 26. The two men were harassing two women when Acorda intervened. Minutes later, they turned their attention on him and beat him unconscious.

CCTV video captured the scene as the men beat and kicked Henry John Acorda. He died five days later in hospital.

No less than the Slovakian prime mister vowed to give justice to Acorda. A suspect has already been arrested and charged with manslaughter.
