Ombudsman Prosecutor Stabbed to Death in QC was 4 Months Pregnant

The husband of Ombudsman Special Prosecutor Madonna Joy Tanyag who was killed on Monday not only lost a wife, he also host an unborn child. Tanyag was four months pregnant.

According to news reports, Special prosecutor Madonna Joy Tanyag had just come from the Sandiganbayan and was on her way back to the Office of the Ombudsman when she was attacked at past 11:00 AM.

Tanyag bought milk tea from a store along Visayas Avenue and as she was boarding her car, an assailant stabbed her three times.

The victim lay on the pavement bleeding when passersby came to her rescue and brought her to the East Avenue Medical Center. However, doctors failed to revive her.

“Hindi po siya humihinga, wala pong blood pressure at wala na rin po ang kanyang puso no so madaling sabi po zero ang vital signs niya,” said Dr. Emmanuel Bueno of the East Avenue Medical Center.

Her husband has appealed for help in seeking justice for Madonna Joy. She also left behind a four-year old daughter.

“Sana tulungan niyo po ako na mai-deliver ang hustisya sa asawa ko. Hindi ko talaga akalain na sa lahat ng tao sa amin pa mangyayari,” said Cris Tanyag.
