PGT 3rd Placer Joven Olvido Wins Something Bigger Than the Grand Prize

Tricycle driver Joven Olvido may not have been the grand winner of Pilipinas Got Talent but he has won something bigger than the grand prize. Joven Olvido only placed third when the final results were revealed.

Joven was, hands down, the crowd favorite. This was no surprise given the Pinoys’ penchant for rooting for the underdog. This plus the fact that his performances were ‘kwela’ (popular) to the masses made him one of top bets to win Pilipinas Got Talent last Sunday. However, when the results were announced, many of his fans and followers were disappointed.

They blamed it on the judges’ scores. You see, the PGT final results were based on the combined scores of the judges and viewers’ votes. Joven Olvido’s fans said that if were not for the judges scores he surely would have won.

But his fans should not be disappointed. Joven may not have won the P2 million grand prize won by eventual winner Kristel de Catalina but he seems to be set for stardom. Yes, Joven is going to be a star!

On Saturday, Vice Ganda told Joven Olvido that he would be included in the cast of her next movie. The film is yet untitled but it will be Vice Ganda’s Metro Manila Film festival (MMFF) entry.

And, chances are, Joven Olvido will get more projects after that.
