This huge mansion in New York used to belong to Ferdinand & Imelda Marcos. Now, it is for sale for millions of dollars. The former Marcos mansion is located in Long Island and sits on a waterfront property. 

The sale of the former Marcos mansion is being handled by Maltz Auctions on September 13. With such a premium property and location, the opening bid for the mansion is set at $2.1 million!

According to Rappler, the Marcoses bought the property in the early 1980s. After the former president and his family was ousted via a People Power in 1987, the mansion was sequestered by the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) headed by Jovito Salonga in 1987. The PCGG eventually sold the property.

According to Maltz Auctions, the mansion sits on an 8.2-acre property. The mansion itself 14 bedrooms and 16.5 bathrooms. It also boasts of an over-sized swimming pool, tennis courts, manicured lawns, a carriage house and a pool house. And the added bonus of a spectacular view of Moriches Bay.

It is even advertised as the former property of the Marcoses: “Extremely Rare Opportunity to Own One of the Last Great Estates on Long Island – Formerly Owned by Ferdinand & Imelda Marcos,” wrote Maltz Auctions on its website.
