“The long wait is over. We got the title and we owe this to the participants that sweat too much for a purpose. To bring back the good image of Kidapawan City, after the bloody rally dispersal in April 1 last year,” said Joey Recimilla, Kidapawan City Tourism and Promotion Officer, in announcing the confirmation after receiving an official email from Guinness World Records.

According to Recimilla, the new record was achieved through the hard work and cooperation of thousands of students from all levels, senior citizens, LGU officials and residents of Kidapawan who danced the Cha Cha Cha in front of three professional dancers sent in by Guinness World Records.

And it looks like, Kidapawan will not stop with this new world record. According to GMA News, it is already preparing to break another one – this time the synchronized dancing of the boogie!
